Community Purpose
In-person group events and connection.
Christian Singles Connect is a Christian community focused on friendship, fellowship, service, and real-life connection. Dating is welcome, but the community is not meant to function primarily as a dating platform. If your actions (or photo) indicate that you are prioritizing dating above community, that is grounds for removal. Members are expected to treat others as brothers and sisters in Christ, with kindness, honesty, and respect, while helping create a safe, uplifting environment for forming friendships. Also, please, no “ghosting”!
Membership Options
There are two participation levels:
- Free Plan: Access to our free calls to network with other Christian singles near you who are planning lunches at their local churches. Access to attend lunches with singles from multiple churches in your area - if you are first taking steps to be involved in lunches at your local church.
- Paid Monthly Memberships: (Which may or may not be offered depending on the city.) These often include additional events and fun opportunities. These sometimes include group dating coaching!
Profile & Conduct Expectations
Members should:
- Complete their profile within 3 days.
- Upload a clear, family-friendly, non-selfie photo of themselves - with no one else in the photo.
- Use respectful communication with no coarse joking (Ephesians 4:29).
- Avoid gossip, negativity, complaining, or divisive behavior (or talking about politics or other controversial topics in our community forums or at events)
- Treat others with patience, kindness, and honesty. Please, no “ghosting” or being a “no-show,” etc. People matter!
- No soliciting for money or business contacts
- No soliciting for sex, drugs or anything else contrary to the word of God.
- Hugging a woman or man, even once without their prior consent, even if hugging 'just as a friend' is grounds for removal if someone reports this as unwanted.
- Talking more than an average amount that others do in the group is also grounds for removal, especially if others report this as interfering with a balanced group discussion.
- Monopolizing one person's time, knowingly or unknowingly, in a way that causes them to feel uncomfortable or crowded is also grounds for removal. This is also why we provide free trainings on dating and relationship skills. Our goal is not to remove people, but to help everyone assimilate into our community - while also helping everyone to feel comfortable and have adequate space to speak with others at events.
- Walking someone to their car after a group event - without asking if they would like this first, is also grounds for removal should someone report this as having made them uncomfortable.
- Using course joking, hateful speech or alluding to topics that make others uncomfortable is grounds for removal. Simply be courteous, unifying and professional. Represent Christ well with a heart of building up the people around you. This is living out a faith in Christ - which is required for being a member of the group!
Can People Be Removed for Not Following Guidelines?
Yes. Please report people immediately if you feel uncomfortable or if they do not uphold the values of our site.
Though it does not happen often, people are removed at staff discretion if they create discomfort, ignore guidelines, cause notable inefficiency, or negatively impact the Christian community atmosphere.
People may also be removed if staff feel they are treating our group as a “dating site” rather having a community-building mindset.
In addition, due to our limited staffing, people can be removed without warning - or explanation. Though we research each complaint and seek to explain why when we are able to, for confidentiality reasons, it is not always possible. In addition, we are not a church or the only place for Christian community - so please abide closely with our guidelines.
We never discriminate based on race, disability, or other protected reasons. It is only one's 'actions or inactions' that result in a member being asked to leave.
We do, however, consider how many people have reported positive interactions with you compared to a one-off minor complaint.
Christian Environment
The community group is intended specifically for Christian singles. Members should:
- Focus on unity and encouragement.
- Avoid political debates, divisive theological discussions, and controversial topics.
- Support a welcoming, Christ-centered atmosphere.
- Not solicit sex or be dishonest.
The organization defines Christianity as belief in:
- Jesus Christ as God’s only Son and one with God and the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ/God/Holy Spirit as the highest (and only) God and authority.
- Salvation through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
- The authority of the Judeo-Christian Bible over all other texts.
- Salvation being based on God’s grace alone, but also shown through lives of Christ-like actions and love.
- Believing that no one is perfect, but choosing to walk towards a life like Christ’s.
Basic Safety & Boundaries Include, at Minimum:
- At events, do not hug others unless they verbally say yes, and give only side hugs (if between different genders).
- Do not walk someone to their car or home unless they specifically say yes, and do not offer more than once.
- If someone says “no” or asks for space, respect it fully.
- If someone asks you to stop messaging them, you must stop immediately.
- The site strongly discourages “ghosting.” Members are encouraged to politely communicate if they do not wish to continue chatting or dating.
- Members should respect others’ messaging preferences in their profile.
- Please avoid talking more than others, oversharing, or taking up an unequal or unreciprocated amount of another member’s time. We should pursue a polite balance of time and conversation to allow everyone to have a chance to be involved, meet others, share, and have a great time.
- Please refrain from all drug use or vaping during events and excessive use of alcohol. Though we do not remove people from the site if they order a drink at an event (such as at a restaurant), we ask that people not bring alcohol to events or plan events in a bar or club setting.
- Guidelines for dress code: With consideration for the context of an event: Please wear attire that draws more attention to your personality and character than your body. Though people's views on this varies, it is solely the determination of staff & key volunteers as to whether your attire is grounds for removal from an event or this community. Our goal at all times on our site and at events is to exhibit a 'Christian community &/or Christian community plus some dating vibe' but never 'dating is the top focus above all else' vibe. Attire at our events, is not about a 'right or wrong moral judgement or scriptural interpretation debate' rather it is about helping everyone to have a chance to shine. If one person dresses in a way that pulls unequal attention from others it is not sharing the room. You are a good, great person. Share the room. :)
Members Should Avoid:
- Showing up intoxicated or high.
- Bringing drugs or emphasizing alcohol at events.
- Inappropriate speech, rude behavior, or discriminatory conduct.
- Smoking, in case others have asthma.
- Serving food with nuts.
- Carpooling with those of the opposite gender.
- Taking photos of others without their consent or posting photos of others without their consent. Site staff and volunteers reserve the right to use video and photography at events to help promote our site and mission, but regular members taking photographs or videos should keep this limited.
- Harassment, hate speech, racial jokes, sexual advances & solicitation, are grounds for immediate removal.
- Requesting money from other members (that is not approved in advance, such as a charity you are raising money for or a business that you run) is grounds for removal.
- Additionally, any person who has been kicked out/removed from our community at any time, is not allowed to join any events even if they hear of them, or sign-up, via other sites or advertisements. Though you may request a full refund for not being allowed into an event you mistakenly signed-up for, you are not allowed to attend.
Events & Hosting
Events are central to Christian Singles Connect
Guidelines for events:
- Events must be in public, group-oriented, and family-friendly settings.
- Attendees must be Christian, single, and members of our site (unless the host has granted permission for a non-member Christian single to attend). Occasionally, there may be married Christians attending as staff, volunteers, or for other reasons. In those cases, the event description should notify you in advance, as should their name tags and/or actions.
- Activities should remain uplifting and Christ-honoring.
- Examples: casual dining, hiking, Bible studies, swing dancing, and PG/PG-13 entertainment.
- Avoid clubbing, explicit entertainment, most comedian shows, heavy drinking, or drug use.
- Not following the guidelines for dress code described above.
- Notify hosts and attendees promptly if cancelling.
- Avoid “no-shows.”
- Communicate respectfully with staff and volunteers. Repeated lateness, extra demands on hosts, or irresponsible behavior by you or your guest may lead to removal.
- Great ideas: Volunteer to assist a host and help an event go well!
- Tip #1: Though not required, have at least one friend co-host or sign up to attend with you from the beginning. It will greatly increase your event sign-ups. People want to go where multiple people are already going!
- Tip #2: Sign up as early as you can to attend an event so others can view your profile and have time to plan to meet you for friendship or potential marriage. In addition, your signing up early will greatly increase the overall event sign-ups and you will meet more people. Small efforts early on can pay off in big ways.
